What is a Registered Dietitian (RD) and how do they help WIC Clients?

A WIC RD is a food and nutrition expert who provides vital nutrition services.  These are just some of the services a RD provides free of charge for WIC clients:

Develop personalized nutrition care plans for WIC moms and their kiddos to help them achieve healthy eating lifestyles

Provides sound, easy-to-follow nutritional advice for WIC clients who have diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, celiac disease and other metabolic or genetic conditions

Helps WIC clients connect to useful and helpful community resources for their overall health needs

Assists WIC moms with making sure they are getting the nutrition and physical activity they need during their pregnancy and after delivery

Check out this top ten list from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics to learn more about the reasons people seek the expert, science-based advice of a Registered Dietitian (RD).
